3 Important Life Lessons You're Not Going to Learn in School

Welcome back to another MGS blog post. Do you feel like you're struggling to improve your life, despite your best efforts? If you're looking for some practical tips to help you get on track, this post is for you. You'll learn the three important life lessons you're not going to learn in school, so you can start applying them today!

In the accompanying episode, I talk about how people often give up on their goals too soon, and how this is due to a lack of understanding that great things take time. I also discuss how people often mistake money for happiness, when in reality money is just a tool to help provide experiences that make us happy. Finally, I talk about how it is important to not let emotions override our intelligence when making decisions.

Here are the key things you need to remember:
1. Money is not happiness, but it helps
2. Do not let emotion override your intelligence
3. Great things take time

1. Money is not happiness, but it helps
The key to happiness is not necessarily more money, but how you spend it. If you're not careful, you can easily fall into the trap of thinking that more money will make you happier. However, studies have shown that this is not necessarily the case. It is how you spend your money that makes the difference. If you spend it on experiences and things that make you happy, then you will be happier. However, if you spend it on things that you do not need, then you will not be any happier. There are a few things that you can do to help you spend your money in a way that will make you happy. One of the best things that you can do is to make a budget. This will help you to see where your money is going and where you can cut back. Another thing that you can do is to make a list of things that you want to buy. This will help you to focus on what you really want and need, and not waste your money on things that you do not need.

2. Do not let emotion override your intelligence
Try to not let emotion override intelligence and always make decisions in a place of logical, rational wellbeing. This means that whatever decisions are made, they should be done so from a calm and collected state, using logic and reasoning rather than emotions. Emotions can cloud judgement and lead to making promises that can't be kept or saying things that are regretted later. It's important to take a step back, observe the emotions for what they are, and then make a judgement call based on logic and reasoning.

It can be difficult to control emotions, but it's important to try to do so when making decisions. Emotions can be especially strong during times of stress and can cloud judgement. If a decision must be made, it's important to take a step back and try to assess the situation logically. This may mean taking some time to calm down before making a decision. This is not always easy however it is important to be aware of the potential consequences of decisions, and to not let emotions override good judgement.

3. Great things take time
Understanding that great things take time is crucial. People who achieve success in what seems like an overnight timeframe actually spent years typing away at a computer, sending off a ton of cold emails, making a bunch of cold calls, recording content into the night, editing into the morning, learning and reading during their lunch break. But it all accumulated into a big end result of them achieving something great. The problem with doing great things isn't that it's hard to understand but it's hard to do. You just have to do what everyone else isn't. You may have to sacrifice that night out with the boys. You may not be able to really enjoy your weekends since you have to work on your side hustle. If you want something great to happen in your life, sacrifice MUST be made.
